I am going to tell you what happened to me last Summer, while I was busy with a painting. I had not received any commission for a long time, and to prepare an exhibition was something almost unthinkable. So, when I was asked to make a copy of Botticelli´s "Allegory of Spring", I did not miss the chance. I locked myself up in my studio-flat and got down to work.
The way clothes were hung in the window of the house opposite really drew my attention whenever I looked out. They were like works of art. Pairs of trousers forming fans looked like butterflies, blouses with their hanging sleeves resembled flying dragonflies and the underwear inserted among sheets made you think of flowers. And the colours always created suggestive chromatic tones.
